14K gold is 58.5% pure gold and 10K is 41.7%, both stamped and guaranteed authentic. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and will tarnish slowly, which a silver polishing cloth reverses. Stainless steel needs no polishing at all and is the choice for daily wear or anyone sensitive to alloy metals.
