Why rose gold. The pink tone comes from copper in the alloy. It flatters warm skin tones, and on a locket the softer colour suits a sentimental piece better than the brightness of yellow or white gold.
Domed and flat. A domed locket curves outward and has more presence; a flat oval sits closer and layers better under a collar.
Fitting photographs. Most hold two. Trim each picture to the frame shape before pressing it in â cutting in place risks scratching the surround.
Chains. A locket weighs more than a flat pendant, so pair it with something at least 1.5mm to avoid stretching over time.
