The everyday links. Box chains are square-linked and sit straight; curb chains are flattened and lie flat against the skin; cable chains are the plain oval link. Rope chains twist and hide wear well.
Patterned. Figaro alternates one long link with three short, spiga braids four strands, anchor sets a bar across each link, and rolo uses equal round links.
Flat and distinctive. Snake chains lie completely smooth. Franco is dense and squared. Bead chains string small spheres, and twisted designs spiral along their length.
Caring for silver. Sterling tarnishes with air and skin — that is the metal behaving normally, not a fault. A polishing cloth restores it in seconds, and a chain worn often tarnishes less than one left in a box.
