Why lining matters. Soft lining stops metal rubbing metal, which is what causes most of the fine scratching on a chain or a polished band. A chest with divided compartments does more for your jewelry than any polish.
Storing silver. Sterling tarnishes faster in a sealed box than in open air. A lined drawer that breathes is better than an airtight case.
