The conch. The spiral shell, worked with textured ridges and a polished lip. Larger versions are made and sold as men's pieces — the shape carries weight better at size than most shell designs.
Other shells. Scallops, cowries and spiral forms in smaller charm sizes.
Why gold at the coast. Solid gold does not corrode in salt air or sea water the way plated metal does — which matters for a piece bought at the beach and likely worn there.
