Silver and CZ. A silver engagement ring with a good CZ reads convincingly at conversational distance and costs a fraction of the equivalent in gold with a diamond. People buy them as a travel ring, a placeholder, or simply because the design matters more than the stone.
Styles. Solitaires, halo settings that ring the centre stone with smaller ones, and plain and set bands.
Sizing. Sterling silver can be sized by a jeweller. A ring with stones set all the way round is the exception — those generally cannot be altered.
