Curb Link Bracelets — Stainless Steel

    Filter

Curb links are twisted and flattened so they lie flat against the wrist instead of rolling. These are in stainless steel.

      Why curb

A curb link starts as a plain oval, is twisted, then flattened, and that twist is what makes the chain lie flat rather than turning on itself. It is the most common chain pattern in the world for exactly that reason — it sits still, it wears evenly, and it is strong in proportion to its weight.

A diamond-cut curb has facets cut into the flattened faces, which catch light in a way an untreated curb does not. Heavier gauges are often called Cuban, which is a curb link with a tighter, deeper twist.

      Getting the length right

Measure your wrist with a tape or a strip of paper and add about half an inch so the bracelet drapes rather than binds. Seven to seven and a half inches suits most women; eight to eight and a half suits most men. A wider or heavier bracelet wants the extra half inch more than a fine one does. Lengths are on each product page.

      About the metal

Stainless steel — harder than gold or silver, will not tarnish, shrugs off the scratches that show on a precious metal. A sensible choice for anyone who reacts to other metals, and for a piece worn every day or in water. Black and gold-tone finishes are IP plated, a hard vacuum-bonded coating that lasts far better than conventional plating.

      Care

Warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft brush, dry. No polishing cloth and no tarnish to remove. Avoid abrasives on a polished or IP-plated surface.
