Why hinged
A hinged bangle splits at one side and swings open, then closes with a box catch or a figure-eight safety clasp. That matters for two reasons. It can be sized to the wrist rather than to the hand, so it sits closer and turns less; and it goes on without forcing it over the knuckles, which makes it the practical choice for anyone with arthritis, larger hands or limited movement in the wrist. Getting the size right
Hinged bangles are sized by the inner diameter of the closed bangle, not by length. Measure around your wrist bone with a tape, divide by 3.14, and that is your diameter.
