Why slip-on
An unbroken circle of metal with nothing to fail: no hinge to wear, no clasp to spring open, no catch to snag a sleeve. It is the oldest form of bangle and the strongest. Slip-ons also stack well, which is how most people wear them — two or three together, often mixing metals.
Getting the size right — measure your hand, not your wrist
This is the one thing people get wrong. A slip-on has to clear your knuckles, so the measurement that matters is your hand at its widest, not your wrist. Tuck your thumb into your palm as though you were putting the bangle on, wrap a tape around the widest part, and divide by 3.14 for the inner diameter you need. If you size to your wrist it will not go on. If you are between sizes, go up — a bangle that will not pass the hand is useless, a slightly loose one just sits lower.
About the metal
Solid 14K yellow gold — 58.3% pure gold alloyed with copper and silver for hardness, stamped 14K. Never plated, gold-filled or vermeil.
Care
Gold does not tarnish; what dulls it is lotion and skin oil. Warm water, a drop of dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry. Keep it out of chlorinated water, which attacks the alloy metals over time. Store flat rather than heaped.
