Why steel. It does not tarnish, holds a polish indefinitely and resists the scratching a necklace picks up over years. For a piece worn every day and never taken off, that is a real advantage over precious metal.
Designs. Square dangle, polished link and patterned constructions — heavier and more architectural than the equivalent in gold, because steel allows it at the price.
Sensitive skin. Surgical-grade steel is far less likely to react than plated base metal.
