Why twisting works. Twisting the metal along the length of the hoop creates a run of angled surfaces. Instead of one bright line down a polished hoop, light breaks along the whole curve — closer to the effect of diamond cutting, without removing any metal.
Hollow construction. Most larger twisted hoops are hollow, which is what keeps a 20mm-plus hoop comfortable through a full day.
